a life creative

Artist in Tuscany

Two months down and one more to go for my working sojourn in Firenze, and it’s not only jewellery commissions that have been cooking…

With artist Elizabeth Burton and her husband John, the Etruscan and I have been all been nose down, bottom up getting the website, brochure and marketing done for our new collective international venture, Artist in Tuscany

“Ever dreamt of painting, drawing, printmaking and constructing an artist book in creative company, in the land of the perfect light (and the perfect sangiovese) in the wild heart of Southern Tuscany……far from the rivers of tourists?”

The all-inclusive art workshop adventures will be based in Santa Fiora and are open to all levels of creativity as Elizabeth will guide each person as they paint, draw and experiment with their own personal style while they construct a concertina book

Every few days there will be the chance to recharge creative batteries with day-long excursions savouring all that the Monte Amiata region has to offer – an olive oil mill, wine tasting, cheese tasting, an expansive and panoramic art garden, the famous chestnut festivals, and (very close to our hearts in particular) visits with the local artists and artisans of the area.

As well as visiting the towns around the mountain, you won’t miss the chance to see nearby Siena, Montalcino, and the Val D’Orcia.

Based on experience, having been on various art and creative package  tours ourselves, we decided to tailor ours  to be based in one place without having to pack and move on every few days. It minimises travel time without missing out on day-long excursions in beautiful Tuscany. We have balanced all of the above with plenty of free time to explore or relax.

We also have an all-inclusive option to go to Firenze for four days to visit the artisans of the Oltrarno, to create something beautiful at Officine Nora or to take part in a lithography class with the masters at Studio L’Armadillo… or both!

Our maiden voyage will be in October, which is a beautiful season on the mountain (imagine: chestnuts and porcini, autumn colours dressing the mountain, wood fires, sangiovese)…And as it’s our maiden voyage, the October package has been discounted, so you’ll save €200.

Here’s the downloadable brochure and we’d really love to hear from you! We’re contactable via the form at our website
